Washington, DC The two turkeys pardoned by President Bush last year were accidently sold to Butterball two weeks ago. The turkeys, named Pumpkin and Pecan, received their pardons on November 28th last year and were supposed to live out their years protected from the oven. Unfortunately, they got mixed up with all the other birds and before anyone noticed they were sent to Butterball for slaughter. A spokesman for the Turkey Farm responsible for the mistake summed it all up with one word – “OOPS”.
